Electronic Music MINI-CAMP
Music Business AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP WORKSHOP For Composers

We are happy to offer two add on options: An Electronic Music Mini-Camp and a Music Business and Entrepreneurship Workshop. These add-ons are open to all composers and music creators, even if they are not participating in the primary composition program, and these sessions may be combined or selected individually.

Electronic Music Mini-Camp

Picture
The mini camp is framed out as a hands-on session over two days prior to the start of the composition program with composer and sound-artist J Anthony Allen. Dr. Allen, who is also an Ableton certified trainer, will guide composers and creators starting with a “deep dive” of Ableton Live and moving on to working with aspects of sound design, electronic and electroacoustic composition, live interactivity and more including using additional tools including Max/MSP and Max4Live. Students will have time, if desired, to work on their own projects with the help of Dr. Allen. High speed WiFi and demo versions of the software will be available. Furthermore, all participants will get a discount coupon code for purchasing their own copy of  Ableton Live Suite.  PLEASE NOTE: All participants must bring their own laptop computer (Macintosh or Windows).

Music Business and Entrepreneurship Workshop for Composers

Designed for any composer or music creator who is working towards making a living with their music, or just want to know how best to navigate the market for their music. This workshop will cover essential topics such as copyright, trademark, performance royalties, licensing, streaming, sync opportunities, and more. By the end of the two day session, participants should have a clear understanding of the necessary steps to ensure they are properly compensated for their work going forward. Spanning two group sessions on two consecutive afternoons (May 24 and 25), as well as private consultation sessions with Dr. Allen.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
